Princescargot is a 4-player, split-screen competitive game I made in Unity3D during 2 day game jam with some work colleagues, back in 2014.  No one in our team had any meaningful experience in Unity, so we were pretty pleased with the result from a short dev time. Sadly we didn’t manage to archive much footage, but the video below should give some indication.

Gameplay

Each player controls a cute snail in a low-poly garden full of delicious plants and has the goal of eating as much of the surrounding vegetation before their opponents so they can grow larger and become the Escargot Princess (or Prince) and be awarded a flowery crown (obviously).  You start each match is a small area of the garden and must eat the small plants so you grow large enough to eat the low hedges and escape into the wider garden. Hazards include hallucinogenic cacti and other players, if they get big enough to eat you!

My Contribution

I was the coder on the team, creating the basic gameplay; controls, camera and scoring / progression. I was also supporting the level designer and audio designer on the team, as it was their first time using c# for scripting games.
