Bad North is a a minimalistic, single-player strategy game for PC, consoles and mobile, featuring small-scale defensive battles. The game has the feel of a Tower Defence, but with tiny mobile armies. It is thew brainchild of the very talented Oskar Stålberg, with myself partnering on development and Martin Kvale joining to handle audio and music.
The game is slated for release in 2018.
Your home is under attack. The king is dead at the hands of viking invaders. The young Prince and Princess must overcome their bickering and pick up the pieces. As they prove themselves, they regain the confidence of their father’s old vassals and rebuild the shattered kingdom.
The game takes place across a series of tiny islands, which the you defend against the onslaught of Viking invaders. As you progress, you prove your worth to the other noble houses and recruit them to your cause. Each noble controls a squad of fighters, who start off as simple militia, but can be upgraded to a number of specialities.
